Job description:
The Material Handler is responsible for the movement of material on multi-family construction sites.
Responsibilities
• Operate Heavy Equipment machinery such as all-terrain forklifts and Sky Trak forklifts.
• Transport lumber material to and from job site.
• Unload lumber material from delivery trucks
• Responsible for inventory counts
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Works on unleveled ground
Requirements:
• 1-year construction forklift operation experience. NO warehouse experience.
• Experience loading and unloading long material
Skills:
• Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e., rain, heat, sun, cold.
• Must be able to traverse various terrains.
• Must be able to write, read and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
• Must be able to communicate with others.
• Must have endurance necessary to perform these duties throughout a standard eight- or ten-hour days. • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, etc.)
• Must have knowledge of heavy equipment.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
