Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our team.

The Safety Coordinator will assist the Safety Manager in developing, coordinating, and implementing occupational health policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety operations in the organization.

Responsibilities:
• Reports to the Safety Manager.
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• Conducts or facilitates employee training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements. Drafts and implements internal safety standards and policies.
• Review accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility.
• Assist in conducting accident investigations by obtaining required reports from employee(s) and sub-contractors.
• Able to communicate and enforce company safety standards to employees and subcontractors.
• Anticipate project safety needs and assist Superintendents with required safety training.
• Able to communicate professionally with all levels of personnel.
• Ensure all required postings are on-site and kept updated consistent with regulations.
• Empower all employees to make safety their priority.

Required Qualifications:
• 2 to 3 years of construction safety experience preferred.

• Current OSHA 30 and 10 Construction certification.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Familiar with company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and recognize safety standards and issues.

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Ability to travel throughout job sites as required to conduct safety inspections.
• Willing to travel out of town when required.
